I interviewed two other movers and decided that American Way Van & Storage was who I wanted to to be in charge of my truck and household goods. I’d like to save you some time with an honest review if you are considering American Way for a long distance move. They came in less expensive than Upack and Pods. Additionally, the cost of renting a U-Haul, Penske, or Enterprise truck was a little less but when you calculate the gas cost it’s about the same rate as American Way. Secondary to price the most important thing for me was honesty and trust and they really hit it out of the ballpark here. Thomas Van was our coordinator and took his time to create a full inventory of our house to give us an honest estimate. This is really important because hiring movers who give you an estimate without seeing what you have can easily up the price once they deliver and that just not a position anybody wants to be in. Thomas was straight forward, available to answer our questions quickly (I’m talking within a few minutes), and even gave us tips on what we can do to save time and money. He truly treated us as if we were his family with how kind, courteous, and thoughtful he was with everything. Dennis Snyder was our mover and went above and beyond what any mover I have ever dealt with has done. He did everything from check in with a call and text before coming, wrapped everything like it was faberge eggs, and continuously checked in until he got to our destination. He is one of those salt of the earth types who is just genuinely caring and wants to help as much as possible. At one point I pondered if Dennis was going to offer to set up our utilities for us too. I mean that is how much he did for us. We are incredibly grateful to have found American Way and really lucked out with Thomas and Dennis. I would highly recommend this company.

Then I came across an ad for National Van Lines, and they said to watch out for many of these companies and the things they do, including requiring a deposit upfront just to book with them - then you never see them again. National Van Lines promised to do none of those things and guarenteed it in writing. Also, no deposit or payment was required until the moving truck arrived to deliver our furniture. Our experience was flawless from the very beginning. Eric, their estimator, came to our house and did a detailed inventory of our belongings. He was very professional and very courteous. We felt in good hands with him and he did everything he said he would. The estimate was very reasonable , not overpriced at all. When it came time for the actual move, the company working with National Van Lines was Jet's Moving Company. Their truck arrived right on time and Tara - the owner of that company was very professional and very careful with all our stuff. We couldn't have been more pleased. I have never used a moving company. I had 48 hrs to move aand I was overwhelmed. These 3 young men who moved me were phenomenal. They were on time and very comforting. They had me loaded and unloaded with no damage. They put my furniture in the correct rooms and reassembled my beds. My quote stayed within a few dollars of its original estimate. Very happy. I can recommend American Way without hesitation and will request/hire them for our next military move (fingers crossed we don't have to move again!). We'd just finished a whole home renovation and they took fantastic care of everything. Coverings on door frames, cardboard and roll carpets wherever box dollies were used, not a single mark I could find on the walls etc. Boxes were handled with care, placed where my wife directed, and stacked as orderly as could be expected in a several hundred box chaotic move.The admin team at the warehouse was exceptionally accommodating with some rescheduling flail due to our reno contractors taking longer than expected. They also helped arrange a quick box pick up after our garage was full of empty broken down boxes and we'd hoped to get cars out of the weather. They also pulled a scooter and motorcycle off the truck from Florida before they went into long-term storage during our renovations so we'd have fun things to ride during the months we were under construction.I could go on and on but these folks were truly professionals that made our move remarkably painless. Buying a new home was stressful, the bank messed up paperwork, and then moving 3 hours away with 2 small children and 2 big dogs seemed impossible. When everything else seemed to want to fall apart Eric Wright made sure none of it was the move. He made everything simple. Then the guys showed up. They piled out of that truck like it was a clown car. 5 of them all drinking Monsters and NOS had a 3 bedroom 2 bath ranch loaded in 2 hours. (2 men and a truck wanted to charge me extra for a 3rd guy on top of being $500 more to start.) They were funny, polite, and so very professional. They made every single thing easy. I feel bad I can only remember Happy and Peanut's name. Those guys went above and beyond my every expectation. Not only did everything arrive in tact, but they beat me to the house. Somehow maneuvered that huge truck into an impossible place and then figured out how to get everything into a house that wasnt easy. I can not thank those guys enough!!

I accepted a new position, had to sell my home find a new place to live and move my possessions...and do this in 3 weeks.This is where Eric Wright and American Way Van & Storage came in.Eric was great to work with. He is a great communicator and let me de-stress with him on one or two occasions where I just needed to talk through a couple of steps on the process.I can't say enough about the crew that picked up my goods in Columbus. They were professionals. American Way Van & Storage made my moving experience easy and stress-free. Eric Wright, my moving consultant, was fabulous to work with. He stayed in touch and kept me updated on how things were going. He was always available for questions and calls.Additionally, both pick-up and delivery crews were great. They were friendly and efficient, and gave me the promised 24 hour notice about their arrival. For pick-up, they were incredibly careful about the things I hadn't boxed myself (like my TV, mattresses, etc). At delivery, the crew unloaded the boxes to and set-up the furniture in the rooms where everything belonged (I had thought I'd have to move the boxes myself from the living room).Finally, I paid exactly what I was quoted.I would recommend American Way Van & Storage to anyone looking for a reputable, cost-effective, and honest moving company.
